Tired of the clubbing scene on a Saturday night? Can’t make up your mind whether to have a bar, club, lounge or a house party? Need somewhere to go where you can have a little of everything? A place with enough space to dance, enough space to just sit and chill, enough volume to still have a conversation....
Something new is finally on the horizon as Cacay Moras hosted the B @ The Establishment party last month. Be... Badkiss... Belvedere... Birthdays...
Manila nightlife trooped to this glamorous and fabulously-packed bash featuring the grooves of Christina Bartges (a.k.a. Ms. Badkiss) who wowed the crowd with her beats. It also obviously didn’t hurt that she was a feast for the eyes as well as the ears. It was also the first time The Establishment lifted its strict dress code that night — and the succeeding parties related to this series.
Celebrating their birthdays on that night were Marco Rodriguez, Oudine Santos, Angelo Villanueva, Richard Danao and Penshoppe’s Alex Mendoza. Each celebrator had his or her own table surrounded by friends and a bottle of Belvedere vodka.
It was a soiree that went deep into the night, as guests mingled, danced and enjoyed the crisp, clean taste of Belvedere vodka which was on open bar during a portion of the night. Don’t miss the next one on April 17 when Hennessy is the sponsor at the same hip venue, The Establishment at The Fort.
Smart glass
Imagine this — you enter the glass-lined conference room for a meeting. When you turn on the lights, the glass walls turn “frosted” giving you instant privacy. Or at home, imagine being able to vary your window tint to control solar heat that passes through, making your home cooler; or convert a space in your store-front glass walls into a multimedia billboard while using the window into a speaker. This is Smart Glass and Digital Signage Solutions and its products are now available in the Philippines courtesy of Vismech Corp.
Unveiled during the product launch were two types of smart glass — the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Privacy Glass, where you can choose whether your partition or skylight is clear or opaque; and the SPD (Suspended Particle Device) Variable-tint glass, where you have dynamic control of tint — manually switched on or integrated into your Building Management System. And the best thing is even at its heaviest level of tint, you can still have a view.
Smart glass can be used in place of regular glass and has the ability to stop or control light, glare and heat. While smart glass eliminates the need for blinds and shading systems, it also opens up design possibilities particularly for odd-shaped, hard-to-reach windows and skylights. Acrylic projection screens come in 30” to 138” (diagonal) sizes, and will all perform well in high ambient lighting. Projection films allow you to create your store front window glass into a projection screen. To step up a notch, the interactive foils can be added onto the projection films to turn the same glass surface area into a touch pad.
Other products presented during the launch were the IR Bezels, which turn any projection screen, LCD, LED or Plasma display into an interactive screen. The Mirror Vision line transforms mirrors into advertising displays using TV, PC or rear projection screens. The Canvass Art Speakers combine flat panel speaker technology and contemporary canvass art images blends well in any environment. Also available are LCD and LED displays, like all the other screens, are available in pre-cut and custom sizes.
