Birthday wishes
A simple intimate party that is full of life and thanksgiving is just what society lady and philanthropist Tessie Briones fervently wished for. True enough, her wish came true when her friends hosted a party in her honor at Maruchan Japanese restaurant in Makati City. With her kindness and generosity, Tessie will surely be showered with more blessings in the years to come. Happy birthday and more power to you, Tessie!
A portrait of jazz greats
Art and music enthusiast Eva Abesamis recently attended the successful exhibit of the prize-winning book Three Wishes, An Intimate Look at Jazz Greats authored by jazz baroness Pannonica “Nica” Rothschild de Koenigswarter. Held at the Hermes store in New York, the book is a collection of candid photographs with very interesting varied responses of great jazz musicians to the question, “What are your three wishes?”

Fit for royalty
Crown Prince and heir apparent to the Dutch throne Willem-Alexander was given a fete at the Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa’s Seas restaurant. Manny Osmeña, chairman of the hotel, spearheaded the celebration during the prince’s visit to the Philippines for the 8th Asia Pacific Round Table on Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP). Guests that night were some of Cebu and Manila’s most recognizable faces in the diplomatic circle, including the Netherlands Ambassador Robert Brinks, Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Laura Del Rosario and Dutch honorary consul Robert Aboitiz and APRSCP awardee taipan Dr. Lucio Tan. The occasion was truly fit for royalty.
