A festival for global peace

A grand banquet was recently held at the Champagne Room of the historic Manila Hotel in celebration of the Global Peace Festival. The event was organized by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in partnership with the hardworking, civic-minded and newly re-elected Red Cross Gov. Leonida “Baby” Bayani-Ortiz, who is now on her fourth term. It was a truly successful evening that emphasized the festival theme “One family under God.”

Congratulations!

Wining and dining to your heart’s content

The Bellevue Manila, the premier business hotel south of the Metro, recently launched its wine society in grand fashion. Held at its magnificent and breathtaking Grand Ballroom, the launch proved to be an auspicious one as the crème de la crème of Manila’s A-listers flocked to the hotel to sample the fine Chilean wines brought by guest of honor and wine connoisseur Tita Trillo. The brilliant visionaries behind Bellevue GM Patrick Chan and marketing and communications director Ryan Chan made sure everyone had a great time with the venue’s exquisite ambience, accommodating staff, delectable canapés and varied cheeses. The Bellevue Wine Society is fast becoming the group of choice in wine circles, with regular wine tastings scheduled each month coupled with bonuses and incentives towards wine purchases and corkage fees in the hotel.

Congratulations on the successful launch!

A beautiful birthday

Audiophile and art dealer Hermie Ventura recently threw a birthday bash for his lovely wife Kathy at the Embassy. Close friends of the couple including well-known abstract expressionist Ivan Acuña attended the shindig until the wee hours, celebrating another fruitful year for the Venturas.

Happy birthday, Kathy!

From paradisiacal Palawan...

My good friend Minerva Tanseco, along with Chichi Laperal and Celine Bautista, recently paid a visit to the Philippines’ last frontier: Palawan. Upon the personal invitation of Puerto Princesa Mayor Ed Hagedorn, they were able to take in the perfect and idyllic sanctity of the island paradise which is truly an enjoyable retreat.

See you in Palawan!

...to captivating Cambodia

Exotic Cambodia was the next stop for Minerva Tanseco as she treated several of her friends including birthday celebrator Beng Fores and the FCCP cultural committee members like Lulu Castañeda to a memorable vacation. The group enjoyed a scenic tour as well as a culinary experience.
