A new Professional comes to Manila

One of Europe’s foremost professional hair care brands is now in the Philippines as Signature Style, Inc. introduced the hair care product range of Revlon Professional. Selected members of the press and friends were invited to the launch at Razzle Dazzle Salon on Rada St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Guests were pampered with free hair makeovers to experience that luxurious feeling of the premium quality products of Revlon Professional. They selected from different services like permanent hair color by Revlonissimo, semi-permanent hair color by Young Color Excel, ionic hair color treatment by Nutri Color Crème or hair and scalp treatment by Interactives. They were also treated to food and free flowing wine the entire afternoon.

Revlon also introduced the Intragen 5 Patch — the first anti-hair loss patch in the market. It has sold more than 4.5 million patches worldwide. The product is also part of an anti-hair loss line that includes a shampoo and an after shower leave-on spray. Another hit was the Nutri Color Crème — an all-in-one hair color and hair treatment that works in just three minutes and more importantly, this product does not contain ammonia or peroxide.

Global technical director of Revlon Professional (Spain) Raunel Novaes and GM (Asia Pacific) Andrew Noble flew into town to meet the press as well as color and cut their hair!

Revlon Professional is now available in selected leading salons and is exclusively distributed by Signature Style, Inc.

A Smart choice

Nokia, together with Smart Infinity, recently celebrated the amazing features of the Nokia N95 — the ultimate multimedia computer, a media player, a five-megapixel camera, an mp3 player and a GPS device.

The Nokia N95 easily replaces a number of single purpose devices with a well-designed package that is with you. The five-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics shoots DVD-quality videos and a music player allows you to listen to your favorite music tracks in a range of formats such as mp3 and aac. You can also access e-mails, surf the Internet, download movies, upload photos to Flickr and find your way around town using the GPS feature.

The intimate dinner was hosted by businessman Bomboy Araneta at his residence and was led by Smart executives — Smart and PLDT president Napoleon Nazareno, Infinity business group head Julie Carceller and Nokia account manager for Smart Cristina Trinidad.

The safari-themed dinner was catered by Bellevue Hotel and held at the garden with jungle-inspired motifs and flower arrangements. The program, hosted by Allure columnist Johnny Litton, featured popular singer Verni Varga, who entertained the audience.

Creations for the next generation

Samsung Metrowear, the country’s first year-long fashion event, held its second installation at the Rockwell Tent. Dubbed “The Next Generation,” it featured the collections of 10 innovative designers namely Antonio Garcia, James Reyes, Patty Eustaquio, Cary Santiago, Protacio, Ivarluski Aseron, Joey Samson, LZ Punzalan, accessory designer Wynn Wynn Ong and shoe designer Brian Tenorio.

Garcia’s designs were inspired by the Korean culture reminiscent of the men’s and women’s traditional costumes of Korea’s colonial era. Reyes’ key pieces and materials used in his collection are satin, twill, cotton pique and taffeta. Eustaquio’s collection were colors of deep plum, blue, black, shades of gray and off white.

The designs of the next generation come from various inspirations ranging from nature to culture and history. The Samsung Metrowear series will be continued by a retailer’s show in September.

Spotted were ABS-CBN’s Gabby Lopez, Ernie and Jeena Lopez, model Anna Bayle, Tessa Dragon, Xeng Zulueta, Ala Paredes, Bianca Gonzales, Priscilla Mereilles, Helena Belmonte, Rajo Laurel, Randy Ortiz and Chris and Katrina Goulbourn-Feist.

Samsung Metrowear’s “The Next Generation” was also sponsored by Metrobank Femme, Filigrenesia, L’oreal Profesionnel and Shu Uemura.
