Breezing in un-fashionably late were fashion and restaurant mogul Ricco Ocampo; young heir to the retail empire throne, Anton Huang of Rustan’s; night life royalty, Louie Ysmael and his wife Cecil; the absolutely attractive Anna Angara; observant architect Miguel Pastor; Kitchen Queen Beng Dee; one-of-a-kind star maker, Joji Dingcong; that gent with the know-how, Philip Cu-Unjieng of PEOPLE Asia; and versatile working socialite with the four B’s, Leah Puyat who chatted with me about everything except her table, that–(oops, moi lips are sealed!)–later in the night. But then, dahlings, it happens even to the best, n’est ce pas?

Famous Bar, dahlings, melds a fun lifestyle, good food and a touch of "star struck-ness." The food here is yummy and the desserts are simply to die for. But what sets Famous apart–besides its streamlined, hip and playful interiors which conjures Los Angeles and Florida–is that most of the things (the chairs, tables, cups and saucers) inside the bar were all given by–yes, palanggas !–famous people.
So you may be sit on Gretchen Barretto’s huge armchair or by Diether Ocampo’s table. Or sipping your gourmet coffee from Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan’s cup and enjoying a slice of Strawberry Fields Forever of Madame Imelda Marcos’ plate.
The famous, dahlings, don’t only include individual personas but corporations like Crossover. And then there is Joey who provided the music and live coverage and even the popular cooler, Lipton Tea and Pepsi which always keeps our throats from drying up especially when we are partying; and naturellement, the hip crowd’s fave boutiques, Oxygen and Penshoppe. Even the famed Truth Calvin Klein Men beautifully sponsored The TRUTH About Being FAMOUS, a photo exhibit by the entrance of Famous Bar. All the pics featuring famous local movie stars were shot by the ace lensman Raymund Isaac.
It’s amazing, palanggas, how Crown Asia (developers of Maia Alta and Citta Italia) managed to artfully arrange a sample model unit right inside Famous Bar.
Maia Alta is set in cool Antipolo while Citta Italia is in Cavite. As the delightful rah! rah! Crown Asia sales personas explained to moi, if you’re planning to live far enough from the city yet still be in reach, you can’t go wrong with Maia Alta and Citta Italia.
Check out Famous Bar, palanggas. You just might bump into someone famous enough to be there having a bite of cake or sipping their favorite drink. And who knows? You’ll have your 15 minutes or more of being famous, too!
Those who like real men, palanggas, were thrilled at the launch which was opened by model and Cosmo calendar hunk John Hall in all his half-naked glory. Two equally hunky models followed suit, body-painted with the image of the Calvin Klein Truth bottle. Apres, the models mingled with the crowd, allowing curious invitees to sample the scent right on each model’s warm skin.
Truth Calvin Klein Men is masculinity in its purest form; it’s powerful and sexy. As the delightful Vicky Marchandesch told moi, "the scent of Truth was inspired by nature and warmth of skin."
So for the real men out there–and their ladies–as a popular TV show goes, "The Truth is out there!" And if moi were you, I’d spray it on me quickly, palanggas.
Yes, palanggas, what a great way to spend a night at Famous where you can see and be seen with the famous, cooling it off with Calvin Klein TRUTH cologne while garbed in a FUBU.
