MANILA, Philippines — Makati Mayor Jejomar "Junjun" Binay Jr. arrived at the Senate building on Thursday after the arrest order was issued against him for charges of contempt.
Binay was cited for refusing to appear before the Blue Ribbon sub-committee investigation on alleged anomalies in Makati City projects that involved his father, Vice President Jejomar Binay.

He was detained at the office of the Senate sergeant-at-arms then escorted to a sub-committee hearing amid shouts by his supporters. He refused to answer questions, saying his lawyers have advised him not to attend because they were questioning the Senate's jurisdiction.
