Dear Mr. Lo:
This refers to the story in your section entitled, “Spreading love at Golden Acres” regarding the charity event conducted by Viva’s Vic del Rosario and philanthropist Pinky Tobiano, head of Pinky Cares Foundation, held during the Christmas season at the Golden Acres in Quezon City and which was published January 8, 2010.
It was mentioned on the second paragraph that “The three were shocked to discover that the government seems to have forgotten the senior residents who need care not only from their families but also from government and the generous private sector. It’s a good thing that Golden Acres is their second home.”
May we inform you that the Golden Acres stated in the story is a facility of the government managed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development for senior citizens, 60 years old and above, who are abandoned, neglected and needy.
We hope this clarification finds space in your newspaper.— PRESCILA R. VILLA, OIC-Director, Social Marketing Service, Department of Social Welfare and Development
