Robinson-TESDA partnership renewed

MANILA, Philippines - As part of its commitment to support various government services through its public service program Robinsons Malls’ Lingkod Pinoy, Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) recently renewed its tie-up with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

With this renewal, TESDA will soon be able to bring technical vocational education and training programs to additional localities like Malolos, Puerto Princessa, Palawan, Ilocos Norte and Davao where Robinsons Malls are currently located. Currently there are 15 TESDA Specialista Desks operating in various Robinsons Malls located in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The TESDA Specialista Desk serves as link between the agency and the people by providing information about the agency’s available programs and services. Shoppers and mallers who may be interested in honing their  skills can visit the desks  and inquire  on available scholarship programs, apprenticeship or learnership programs, available tech-voc courses, and assessment and certification among others.  TESDA also provide career guidance and counseling. TESDA is offering 15 courses on-line for free, 7 of which are down loadable.  At present, the on-line program has 260,000 users.

From July 2013 to August this year, TESDA desks were able to serve over 30,000 individuals.
