MANILA, Philippines - Berjaya Phils. Inc. is offering 45 scholarships for diploma in culinary arts, hospitality management, events management, retail management, and tourism and travel management at the Berjaya University College of Hospitality in Kuala Lumpur.
The course will be for two and a half years starting in September this year, shortly after the graduation of the first batch in August. The scholars will be under no obligation to Berjaya after graduation.
Berjaya said that the scholars’ only obligation is to study hard because Berjaya’s objective is to give qualified but underprivileged students a better chance to move up in life.
Berjaya, the local unit of the Berjaya Group of Malaysia, will spend more than P2 million per student to cover all fees, and book and kitchen requirements, and a monthly allowance of around P21,000 for living and accommodation.
Applicants must be 16-30 years old; with a cumulative high school average grade of 80 percent; and with a demonstrable financial need. Further details can be gleaned from www.bcor. com.ph.
