ASHA gets CHED nod to offer BS HRM degree

MANILA, Philippines - The Asian School of Hospitality Arts (ASHA) last Jan. 4, received government recognition from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granting the school the authority to fully offer a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, from first year to fourth year level, in its Antipolo campus.

“We are very excited to offer a BS HRM course to Filipino students since it is ASHA’s vision to be the home of future global hospitality leaders,” said Angie Blanco, dean of ASHA’s BS Hotel and Restaurant Management program, who further added that “educational excellence, experiential learning and immediate career opportunities are central in ASHA’s teaching philosophy.”

For this coming school year, in order to ensure that its graduates are not only highly-trained but also immediately employable, ASHA will only open its BS HRM course exclusively to its current certificate course students.

New applicants will still be accepted but shall be limited only to 30 qualified and committed students who will undergo a rigid, focused and career-oriented program.

ASHA is part of the Cravings Group of Companies which includes the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA), Cravings Restaurants, The Coffee Beanery (TCB), Classic Cuisine (C2) restaurants, The Orange Place Hotels, 7 Suites Hotel, among others. Being pioneers and actual practitioners in this industry, ASHA is able to provide its students with an education that imbibes Filipino hospitality culture, applying experiential learning with the end goal of providing immediate career opportunities for its graduates.
