Vibal celebrates 30 years of ESP with nationwide teacher training

MANILA, Philippines - Vibal Publishing’s Educational Service Program (ESP) celebrates its 30th year with Touch the Future of Learning Seminar Tour, a nationwide teacher training program for teachers and school administrators. The tour will kick off on Nov. 12, 2011 at the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila.

In this tour, Vibal will send its team of authors, editors and educational consultants to key cities nationwide. Among the issues and pedagogical concerns to be tackled are the K-12 Basic Education Program, the Understanding by Design framework and its effective implementation in teaching and learning, and the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools in the classroom.

When it was launched in 1980, the ESP served as an after-sales service to client schools. Today, the ESP has evolved to become a full-scale teacher training program with year-round seminars and workshops to help basic education teachers and school administrators nationwide meet the challenges posed by their profession.

The program has been expanded through the years in terms of reach and coverage in response to the clamor of educators and, more importantly, to help uplift the quality of education in the country.

Touch the Future of Learning is Vibal Publishing’s latest campaign. It aims to address the need for rich media content in the wake of the digital age through the production of quality educational products. It strives to promote a healthy synergy between traditional and digital formats, developing student-centered materials while keeping up with the changing attitudes of the modern Filipino youth.

Vibal is likewise set to define the standards for technology-aided education in the county as it introduces the pioneer line of enhanced Digital Textbooks for grade school and high school levels.

Designed to run on both Apple and Android devices, Vibal’s digital textbooks come with a slew of features that are meant to make learning more experiential and interactive for today’s set of young digital natives.
