150 pupils complete Pulis Ko, Titser Ko program

LAGUNA, Philippines – Some 150 Grade 4 pupils from various public schools here have received their diploma in a graduation rite for the ‘Pulis Ko, Titser Ko’ program, at the Multi Purpose Center in Camp Vicente Lim, recently.

The program, launched in January 2010 in 149 schools in Los Baños, Sta. Rosa, San Pablo, and Camp Vicente elementary school, is a strategic school-based crime awareness project.

The men and women of the Calabarzon police force who were former teachers and graduates of Bachelor of Science in Education (BSED) give 20 to 30 minutes lectures to some 7,450 pupils in the entire region about subjects on crime prevention awareness, child safety, welfare and development.

Calabarzon police director, Chief Supt Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said the curriculum was patterned to fit the standard for grade four pupils in teaching lessons on love of God, nationalism, respect for and obedience to our laws and law enforcers, and similar social norms, Filipino customs and tradition.

“ We hope these kids will grow up as responsible and productive law abiding citizens of our country,” Pagdilao said.
