MANILA, Philippines - To encourage enterprise development among Filipino youth, the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) invites college students with remarkable business plans and concepts to the “Young Entrepreneurs’ Section” of the 18th Philippine International Franchise Conference and Expo (PIFCE), on July 16 to 18, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Organized by PFA, and co-presented by PLDT Business Solutions and PLDT SME Nation, “Franchise 2010” is Southeast Asia’s biggest franchise show and is a one-stop shop of the most successful brand names in franchising, both local and international, covering all sectors at various investment levels, as well as new concepts.
An integral component of the Expo’s Incubation Center, the “Young Entrepreneurs’ Section” will showcase award-winning and excellent business concepts developed by students from various universities and colleges in the country, as cited by national business development competitions such as the Best Business Idea and Development Award (BIDA) of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and Entrepreneurship Educators’ Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ENEDA).
Bicol University’s Okra Coffee Production and Lyceum University’s Muebles Nympheas, both 2009 BIDA winners, will lead this year’s featured Incubation Center exhibitors. Last year’s Expo favorites were University of Cebu’s Bakasi in Jar, Miriam College’s Rainbag and University of Rizal System–Binangonan’s Milkfish Bone Cookies, Taro Corn Pasta and Scrap Veggie Crayons. Expecting around 30,000 visitors, Franchise Expo 2010 is the perfect venue for students to showcase their winning business concepts to numerous investors who are looking for investment opportunities in the country.
