Arellano U graduate No. 3 in nursing board exam

MANILA, Philippines - Michelle Alejandro Barberan, a graduate of the AU College of Nursing (Main), placed No. 3 in the June 2009 board exam, with 77,901 graduates taking the examination nationwide.

A native of Daet, Camarines Norte, Michele will be reimbursed 100 percent of her tuition fee under the “return tuition fee” policy of the university. This policy indicates that those who make it to top 5 gets 100 percent reimbursement of their tuition fee, those in Top 6-10 are reimbursed 75 percent, and beginning this year, topnotchers in the Top 11-25 bracket will get the cash incentives on a graduated scale. The list of those who made it in this bracket in this exam is still being completed. In the previous board exam, Arellano University boasted of two board passers in the Top 10, and 30, in the top 11-25 bracket.

She has this message to nursing students: “Read all your books. Review starts when you take your first nursing subject, not only after graduation....”

She wants to work at the Heart Center, take up graduate studies, be a clinical instructor so she can share her experiences, before thinking of working abroad.
