MANILA, Philippines - The country has 425 new licensed medical doctors.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) yesterday announced that 425 or only half of the 815 medical graduates who took the licensure examination for physicians held in Manila and Cebu passed.
University of the Philippines (UP) graduate Angeli Andrea Cocos topped the examination with a score of 88.17 percent, followed by another UP graduate, Johannes Gubat, in second place with a grade of 87.33 percent.
Third placer was Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) graduate Webster Alindog, who obtained a grade of 87 percent, while Our Lady of Fatima graduate Ma. Priscille Ogena captured the fourth spot with a grade of 86.92 percent.
Another Our Lady of Fatima University graduate, Celso Louis Apuyan, ranked fifth with a grade of 86.42 percent, while Davao Medical School Foundation graduate Luisa Saranillo placed sixth with a score of 86.17 percent.
Saint Luke’s College of Medicine graduate Maria Luz Lopez-Ayusa and University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center graduate Vincent Reolalas shared the seventh spot as both obtained a grade of 85.92 percent.
Ateneo de Zamboanga graduate Georgia Antonette Carpio and University of Perpetual Help System in Laguna graduate Jose Carlo Masangkay shared the eight spot with a score of 85.50 percent.
Two Manila Central University graduates, Juliet Kristine Evangelista and Jan Charmaine Palomar, scored 85.42 percent and shared the ninth spot, while another PLM graduate Annie Abordo-Dioso ranked 10th.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be from March 3 to 5.
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
