ADMU high school's homecoming to raise funds for Yolanda victims

MANILA, Philippines - Every month of December, The Ateneo De Manila High School holds its Annual Alumni Homecoming Celebration hosted by the year’s Silver Jubilarians; in this case, High School Batch ’88.

Since the beginning, Batch ’88 envisioned a homecoming that is much more inclusive and far more involved. Batch ’88 wanted its homecoming to be a homecoming of all Ateneans, calling out to every Atenean to be BLUnited in one cause: to be Men (and Women) for Others by coming home and giving back.

In January of 2012, Batch ’88 committed to raise 8.8 Million for the benefit of The Tulong Dunong Perpetuity Fund, the P.A.G.S.I. Fund (Ateneo HS Teacher’s Fund), and the Jesuit Aged and Infirm Fund.

To date, following a series of both big and small fund-raising projects, the batch exceeded its target and has decided to go the extra mile and respond to the call of the times by dedicating all proceeds of the Homecoming Night for the rehabilitation of Yolanda-stricken communities.

‘BLUnited for Others. Come home and rebuild the nation, Atenista’ is a homecoming and fundraising event for all Ateneans whether from Grade School, High School, or College, and regardless of batch.

No time is more appropriate than this homecoming to bring all Ateneans together to express our solidarity with the nation by helping rebuild fallen communities in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda. All proceeds from the night will go to a Rebuild Fund for affected communities that will be identified by the Ateneo de Manila in coordination with the Society of Jesus and our partners on the ground.

BLUnited for Others, the Ateneo Fundraiser Homecoming is at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2013, Saturday at the Ateneo High School Covered Courts following an alumni Mass celebrated by His Eminence Antonio Luis Cardinal Tagle at the Church of the Gesu at 4:30 p.m.

The evening will also feature top acts like The Side A Band, Freestyle, and Juan Miguel Salvador and The Authority, with a Rebuild Raffle and Shoot Out for two Toyota 86 cars and other prizes.

Official caterer for the event is Mercato Centrale with 20 percent of its profit sales donated to the Rebuild Fund.

Entrance tickets are at P88 per person and Rebuild Raffle and Shoot-Out tickets are at P1,000; both available at the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) through Ms. Rita De Villa at Tel.No. 426-6001 local 4088; Mobile No. 0920-9120946 and email rdevilla@ateneo.edu.
