The COVID-19 fear is still very much around

I read this news report from The Philippine STAR that said, “Despite the easing of quarantine measures in most areas in the country, nearly nine in 10 adult Filipinos still fear that they or a member of their family might contract COVID-19, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) said in its latest survey.”

I tend to agree with this survey. In Cebu City, despite the easing of restrictions, during the weekends people would rather go up to the mountains of Busay to buy plants, flowers or corn rather than go to the shopping malls, which have already opened up. After a five-month “staycation” at home, people look for things that they need in their homes that you cannot find inside the malls.

The poll, taken from Sept. 17 to 20, found 85 percent of Filipinos, aged 18 and above, who were worried that someone in their immediate family might catch COVID-19, against nine percent who were “worried a little” and six percent who were not worried. This was similar to its July 2020 poll when 85 percent were worried, eight percent were worried a little and seven percent were not worried about catching the virus.

Most Cebuanos realize that COVID-19 doesn’t choose who to victimize, the rich or the poor or the powerful. At the beginning of September, former Dumanjug mayor Nelson Garcia, who was infected with COVID-19 but was beginning to recover, died and a week later his brother Marlon Garcia, mayor of the town of Barili in Southern Cebu, also died of COVID-19. They were the two younger brothers of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Rep. Pablo John Garcia. While the Garcia family was asking for answers as to why the Garcia siblings died when they were recovering from COVID-19, this gives our people more reasons to ensure their own safety by following the safety procedures handed down by the IATF.

The SWS September 2020 survey was conducted when most areas of the country were already under the most lenient modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

Worry about catching COVID-19 was highest in balance Luzon at 87 percent (unchanged from July); followed by the Visayas at 84 percent (from 85 percent); Metro Manila at 83 percent (from 92 percent) and Mindanao at 80 percent (from 77 percent).”

On YouTube, I’m a follower of Dr. Steve Turley who makes comments mostly about conservative things that even mainsteam media does not publish. Last night I watched his show and there was a report that is not found in our media here. For instance, his main topic was George Soros, who openly admitted to funding the group known as Black Lives Matter (BLM). After the death of George Floyd, BLM followers went on a violent rampage, looting and destroying stores in many American cities, killing the police. BLM openly admitted that its founder was an avowed Marxist.

Dr. Steve Turley came up with a report complete with videos that George Soros has been banned in six countries, including Poland, Hungary, Russia, Turkey and the Philippines. Now I checked with our media websites if this report was true so I took a photo of what Dr. Turley was reporting about the Philippines and it had a photo of President Duterte, who stopped Soros from visiting the Philippines. While I totally agree with Dr. Turley’s report on George Soros, all I can say is that I hope that President Duterte’s banning him from coming to the Philippines was true. Remember the 1987 Asian financial crisis that we had to endure? It was Soros who started it.

Another YouTube blogger that I follow is Dr. Taylor Marshall, who was a Protestant and became a Catholic. I like listening to his very Catholic views. Another very Catholic blogger is Michael Voris of Vortex the Church Militant, who I was blessed to interview on my TV show when he came to Cebu. His latest was a commentary on the death of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg entitled “Stone Cold Killer.” A commentary that tells the truth about Justice Ginsburg could only come from Michael Voris, an ultra conservative Catholic commentator.

Imagine Michael Voris saying that Ruth Ginsburg on her way to her reward in heaven must have met millions of souls of children who were killed in abortion. That’s because she supported the legalization of abortion in America that killed millions of unborn children every year. If today America is in political turmoil, it is because our Lord Jesus Christ is angry that America is a nation so rich, but allows its babies to be killed inside the mother’s womb. I’m sure that Ruth Ginsburg has to answer to God for what she has done here on earth. Indeed, the whole truth is, while we make mistake in our lives, we must repent them all before we exit our earthly life.
