I was out for four days in Sydney, Australia and therefore out of circulation because we were off to see so many tourism sites in Australia. But now that I’m back, we’re getting lots of reports that nothing much has changed in this country. Worse…I read in the Internet reports that President Benigno “P-Noy” Aquino III warned the Filipino people against “fake” reformers! Hmmm…who are these fake reformers huh?
In the first place, who has been telling the Filipino people that because he wanted his reforms to continue, P-Noy is now open for Charter changes to extend his term and clip the powers of the Supreme Court. But where are those reforms that he is crowing about?
Frankly speaking, I haven’t heard of any reforms done by the Aquino regime…except his creation of that not-so-cleverly-hidden Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), which he and his minions insist has done great things for the Philippine economy. Which brings us to ask, “If DAP was really great for the economy, why then was DAP kept secret until Sen. Jinggoy Estrada exposed it?” In Bisaya we say “Na sakpan man gud!”
Let me remind our readers that the Aquino regime is in its “Last two minutes” in this political game… and if his corrupt yellow minions stole the people’s money, you can just imagine how they would try to extract more in their last two years in office. Worse, the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee has been tainted with investigating suspected corrupt officials, like the investigation against Vice President Jejomar Binay on the overpricing of the Makati Office and Parking building. Yet Senate Blue Ribbon Committee member Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano is himself charged with a similar corrupt deal on the multi-cabs. So why hasn’t he stepped down?
What is happening to our nation today is that…the Philippine Government under Pres. Aquino has become dysfunctional. It is not working anymore for the greater interest of the Filipino people. But they are working hard to keep the political elite in power no matter how many people join those protest marches. Just because they didn’t see millions of Filipinos in Luneta last weekend…it doesn’t mean that most Filipinos still believe in Pres. Aquino. Just look at the social networking sites and you can feel the anger of the Filipino people, whom P-Noy calls his “Boss.”
Let me point out that those who did not vote for P-Noy in the 2010 elections still don’t believe in him. But worse for him are the “Sorry Aquinos,” those Filipinos who were mesmerized by the Aquino mystique, who used to proudly sport the yellow ribbons but have openly declared how they were fooled! One such person is my fellow columnist in The Freeman Michael Lopez, whom I recently interviewed on my TV talk show. He admitted to have campaigned for P-Noy with his youth group. Now he is not only sorry for campaigning for P-Noy, he is mad as hell that P-Noy wants to extend his term of office. He believes P-Noy has dictatorial tendencies!
Yesterday, there was a huge event held in Lipa, Batangas. How I wished I could have been there. This was the call for a National Transformation Council (NTC) that our fellow STAR columnist Chit Pedrosa has been espousing. With the Aquino regime literally dead in the water and totally inutile to solve our nation’s ills, this is his only option left. More so that the huge number of Congressmen and Senators in the Napoles list still haven’t been indicted yet. When will the Filipino people see justice done?
Mind you, transformation councils are being formed all over the country to prepare this nation for the eventual collapse of the Aquino regime, which could happen at any moment now. Come on, we’ve been in this path before and the people marching our streets are still the very same pro-communist organizations that tried to topple the Marcos regime. Unfortunately these leftists were missing during the EDSA Revolt in 1986.
Aren’t these leftist groups the ones who filed four separate impeachment charges against P-Noy? They know that Congress would reject this impeachment and that’s exactly what they want to see so the people will rush into the streets and soon anarchy will reign! That’s what the commies want.
Meanwhile the Tanggulang Demokrasya (TanDem), that broad coalition of civil society, is seeking to establish a “People’s Truth Commission” so that the Filipino people will finally get to the truth on how P-Noy and his DAP juggled funds to serve their selfish and political purposes. What about the misuse of the pork barrel in the purchase of multi-cabs?
Let me add that the Truth Commission should look into the massive electronic “dagdag-bawas” as perpetrated by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) which is supposed to be a constitutionally independent body. But as Ateneo IT Professor Alex Muga discovered, the votes in the 2013 polls were in the exact numbered position in all the regions of this country. This is a statistical impossibility. Yet how come no one is investigating this phenomenon?
