The price of LPG is up, so "uling" goes up too

CHARCOAL VS. LPG. Because the price of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) has gone up to almost beyond the reach of many average costumers, many families have shifted partly to “uling” or charcoal. But the charcoal producers could not be outdone. They also raised their price.

SHREWD. One housewife who told an Ear informer that she is now forced to use “uling” in her daily cooking to cut LPG spending, said some charcoal traders are “shrewd” business people. “Dili sila mopasangil nga mitaas ang gasolina sa ilang pagpasaka og presyo sa ilang uling... Ang ilang excuse mao nga mitaas man ang presyo sa LPG.”
