MR. WHITE. Bus passengers travelling from Samboan, Cebu to Cebu City, usually weekends simply call this fifty-ish American “Mr. White.” They enjoy the company of this Caucasian man because of his sense of humor and his readiness to buy them “painit” or snacks during bus-stops. For two weekends now, Mr. White was not in any of the buses bound for the city. Where is Mr. White?
ACCIDENT. It was learned that Mr. White has figured in an accident and was brought to Metro Manila for treatment. Many felt sad about learning this and some women could not hide their tears. “Na anad naman gud mi niya,” said a middle-aged “manghihilot” from Bato. “But don’t worry,” another elderly woman said. “He will be back. God will save his life for us.”
