Responsible parenthood? It's still the RH Bill

Pres. Benigno “PNoy” Aquino III has openly declared his full support for the Responsible Parenthood Bill, despite the strong opposition of the Pro-Life groups and the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). Clearly the President has drawn the line, much like our Lord Jesus Christ drew the line on the ground against the men who wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery when he said, “He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone.” I dare say that Pres. Noy cast the first stone in this fight against the evil that is the Reproductive Health Bill which, if you haven’t noticed has morphed into another name called the Responsible Parenthood Bill.

The RH Bill has been with us since 1999 when it was called House Bill or HB 4110. In 2011 it became HB 8110, in 2004 it became HB 3773, in 2007 it was HB 5043 and in 2010 it is HB 96 and finally it is now HB 4244. What is crystal clear to me is that, the people in the darkness who do not see the light that is our Lord Jesus Christ has tried to sell this bill and was rejected since 1997. If the Filipino people rejected it since 1997, why are these people still trying to peddle this bill to us? This is the only proposed bill in Congress that I know that has been repeatedly brought back and back and back!

Rep. Edcel Lagman, the principal author of this bill in whatever form it is called is like a peddler or a carpet bagger who comes to you with a product, but since you’re not buying it, he changes the package of the same product hoping you would finally purchase it. It is akin to what Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels once quipped, “A lie repeated a thousand times assumes the substance of truth.” Like the proverbial phoenix, this bill resurrects in every Congress because it was never supported by Pres. GMA.

But Mr. P.Noy is using his popularity, (which unfortunately for him is fast wearing out) plus this renamed Reproductive Health bill into its new name Responsible Parenthood bill in order to marshal his political forces to have this bill approved in Congress. It just makes me wonder what his parents, the late Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and his mother Pres. Cory Aquino must be apologizing to God in heaven for what their son is doing to displease God. What scares me is that, God is watching us and has spared the Philippines from the natural calamities happening around the world. But we, too, are having earthquakes in the country, but with no devastating effect yet.

So Pres. Noy should see the writing on the wall (or hear the rumblings of the Taal Volcano) that when God is no longer pleased with the Philippines, you can bet that the Angel with the sword of fire in his hands as depicted by Sister Lucia will strike our nation and then, someone will blame P.Noy for displeasing God. So for this Holy Week, let us offer our prayers to God to send his Holy Angels to penetrate the brain of the President so he would come to realize the grievous error he just committed in supporting the Responsible Parenthood Bill.

Meanwhile in a Malacañang statement yesterday, they said that the dialogues with the Catholic Church on the Responsible Parenthood bill will continue even after the Presidential announcement supporting this bill. Are these people so dense? What more is there to talk about this bill now that the pharaoh has clearly spoken? How naïve can these people in Malacañang get? Oh well, I guess they think that since they’ve finally landed in Malacañang, they have become so smart, they can do no wrong.

Mind you, these are the very same people who are now talking peace with the Communists, believing that peace can be achieved while the Communists keep on killing innocent people and ambushing our soldiers. For years, it has been clear that peace talks with the communists always failed because the government could never find any compromises with them as their main objective is to replace the very government that they are talking to. So in the end, the peace talks with P.Noy’s government would also fail.

In the ten months of the new Aquino government, they have stumbled and fumbled every step of the way, doing so many wrong things and worse, they do not even accept or realize their mistakes. When P.Noy purchased his Porsche 911 Turbo, many people frowned that he bought this without even telling us from whom he bought the car or whether it was smuggled or not. When Ricky Carandang was told about the negative effect this has done to the image of the President, he simply retorted “I don’t really care!”

I guess this is the attitude that we see in Pres. Noy and his Cabinet. They don’t really care for the Filipino people who voted them into power. They don’t really care if we Filipinos know that we are being conned into believing that the Responsible Parenthood Bill is not the same as the highly toxic Reproductive Health Bill. Why change its title when we know that it is the same collar on the very same dog? At the very least, the other Presidents would present to the people a different collar on the same dog.
