GUN BAN. Weeks before the Barangay elections this October 25, Comelec has again imposed the gun ban. But a gun owner bewailed this ban and said that the legal owners of guns are the ones made to suffer. He said, “Kaming mga naay gihuptang papeles sa among pusil, maoy mga responsible gun owners. Pero kami ang gisilutan. Kana hinuong mga kriminal, maoy mag gara-gara karon.”
CRIME-PRONE. He further said that if a conflict arises between a robber and a legal gun owner, the legal gun owner would be at the losing end. “Alkanse gyud ang legal gun owner. Unsaon man niya pagbawos sa kriminal nga mamusil nga gun ban man. Pustaanay pa, daghang kriminal karon maghawod, kay kabalo man sila nga dili kabawos ang biktima.”
TONGUE-IN-CHEEK. A texter even contributed this cheeky text view: “Good citizens, please avoid hurting these criminals and stay away from the bad people at this time, as they are the only ones allowed with weapons so they can terrorize during this period with complete impunity and no fear of armed response from you, the citizenry.”
