JER-JER, ARINOLA. This political party visited an urban barangay in Cebu City recently. Each candidate made speeches and played their campaign jingle. One candidate said that people can easily remember him because his nickname is “Jer-jer”. Another candidate said that his name is also easy to recall because it rhymes with “Arinola.” The Ear informer commented, “Sus ning mga kandidato. Bahala na’g bastos or baho paminawon, para lang gyud sa name recall.”
NOT SEA-WORTHY? The Ear heard that this person who has been very vocal in complaining to the media that vessels of this shipping company are not seaworthy just bought a ticket for that same ship. A mediaman was heard commenting, “O, sige siya’g reklamo kabahin sa ilang barko nga dili sea-worthy, unya mosakay man diay siya’g balik.”
