Shipping lines should improve service during peak seasons

PIER PRESSURE. The Ear heard that last May 11, at 6 to 7PM, there was a lot of confusion in the terminal of Pier 1. A priest passenger said that there were no signs at the gates, which he said would be no problem when there are only few passengers. But he said that day, only one female guard tried to supervise a crowd of hundreds. She had no megaphone. Result: People didn’t know which gate to go, lots of pushing and shoving, hurting kids and women, children separated from parents. The priest said he pitied the kids and women who were crying due to the confusion. The female guard also became ill-mannered when she could not control the crowd anymore.

ADVICE. The priest has this advice to shipping lines: “Please improve the handling of your passengers in the terminal especially at peak seasons like May. Shipping lines should know when to increase their terminal personnel and to put those signs.
