SLIPPERY SKYWALK. During the last Sinulog festival a foreigner (Caucasian) was seen washing her legs with bottled mineral water. She had slipped on human waste at the foot a skywalk stairway on Osmeña Blvd. “Napuno intawon og hugaw sa tawo ang puti nga tiil kun bitiis sa turista,” an Ear source said. “Apan sige lang gihapon siyag smile samtang nanghugas og ice cold mineral water.”
OLD ISSUE. Who’s responsible for the maintenance of the skywalks all over the city? This is an old issue which often crops up everytime the sad state of some skywalks are talked about. “Grabeng hugawa sa uban tang skywalk,” a balut vendor who has been to many of the skywalks told The Ear. “Naa pay sidewalk nga gihimong romansahan sa mga managhigugmaay nga dili ka-afford og motel.”
