But their happiness quickly turned to dismay at the apparently superficial way the event was handled. The news reporter from Manila said, “The dancers wiggled it, and not just a little bit...”
NO MENTION OF STO. NIÑO. Many Cebuanos who saw the tv clip were outraged when the tv reporter didn’t even bother to mention the Sto. Niño. A businesswoman said, “Mora man na niya’g gibinuangan iyang report. Wala man gani gihisgutan ang Sto. Niño.” Another devotee said, “Mora pa niya’g gibugal-bugalan ang atong sayaw sa Sinulog. “Wiggle it” kuno. Wala gyud siya’y hanaw sa religious significance sa Sinulog dance steps.”
