Letter to the editor: Surveys confusing

I am writing to you, hoping to get a clearer understanding of the situation in our country. I believe that you, in media, would be able to give us ordinary citizens the proper perspective on issues affecting our nation and the world.

One thing that has always bugged me is the fact that the Philippines has been doing well in terms of economic ratings by respective organizations, but then surveys say that the people are unhappy with the government because of all sorts of reasons.

There is no doubt that many people are suffering from hardships, but then we can also see that the country continues to be progressive and despite the economic slowdown around the world.

In our city, we can see all sorts of economic activity from the construction of more buildings to the continued effort to hire more employees. Is the government really that bad? Or are these surveys only presented by people with their selfish agenda? - Michael Uy
