HAPPY DAYS. Businessmen might be in a crisis nowadays with the peso plummeting to record lows, but many OFWs are in high spirits. The Ear heard many happy housewives trooping to money changers to exchange their dollars. A wife of an OFW who works in Bahrain said, “Lipay kaayo mi uy. Dako ang exchange. Maka ginansiya gud ko og more than P1,000. Dako na kaayo ning tabang sa pamilya namo.”
FOCUS ON THE PESO. The Ear heard that teachers working in the United States are also happy with the current peso-dollar exchange rate. A teacher called up her daughter last night to ask about the exchange rate. When she was told that one dollar stands at the P49 level, she exclaimed, “Hay salamat intawon sa Ginoo. Sige, magpadala kog daghan diha samtang dako pa ang dollar.”
