Letter to the Editor — Let's be realistic in our political assessment

This is in reaction to your editorial today, March 2, 2007, portion of which states: "but it is not a very good move for Junie. The possibility is great that he will be beaten again. It is never good to be beaten by a woman twice."

I respect your editorial opinion, but, since when is it good to be beaten again? Can you lay down the parameters why you are so certain that Junie can be beaten again? As a matter of fact, Junie won against Gwen but not proclaimed by Comelec.

Is it necessary to point out the obvious that former Senator Sonny Osmeña is having an alliance with Junie Martinez now? What's the implication? The record will show that John-John Osmeña, the son of Sonny Osmeña got 205,000 votes in the last three cornered fight ( in ) 2004. Therefore, with the combination of the two major political forces ( Junie and Sonny ) now, how can you support your editorial claim that Junie can be beaten again?

Let's be realistic in our political assessment so as not to mislead our readers.
