She and the boy were close friends. When the boy told her he will become a priest when he grows up the girl laughed at him. And so they decided to make a bet.
"We made a bet, if he will become a priest I will pay him two pesos, if he does not become a priest he will pay me two pesos," the woman told the Ear source.
This was so long ago two pesos was practically a fortune to a grade-schooler at the time.
MONEY IN THE BANK. Years passed and the boy did indeed become a priest. Shortly before his ordination he tracked down his elementary classmate.
He did not approach her immediately but sent her an invitation to his ordination with a friendly note that read: "P.S. Meron kang utang na P2." After his ordination the priest was approached by his elementary friend and they talked of old times for a while. Before she left she handed him an envelope.
"Nilagay ko sa bangko," she said. When the priest looked inside the envelope he saw P2,000 instead of P2.
