Flowers offered to the dead stolen and resold

STOLEN FLOWERS RESOLD. The Ear heard last All Souls Day that flowers and candles stolen from tomb sites are apparently resold to the public outside the cemeteries.

VICTIM'S TALE. One woman told The Ear that she placed a bouquet of roses in front of her father's tomb marker yesterday morning. She left the cemetery to buy candles in a nearby supermarket. She said she was gone for only 20 minutes. When she returned, she saw what looked like the same bouquet sold at the cemetery entrance. When she got back to her father's cemetery plot, the bouquet of roses were missing. She later told The Ear, "Ako-a man gyud tong roses nga gikawat unya gibaligya sa gawas sa minteryo ba. Pareha gyud ang dagway ug ang plastic wrapper sa bouquet."
