MANILA, Philippines - The 268 passengers of Singapore Airlines flight SQ 910 who arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport yesterday afternoon were surprised when they saw gift boxes coming out of the baggage conveyor belt.

The gifts, each bearing their names, contained toys and pillows for children, toiletry, make-up kits, charger kits, and traveling bags.

The airline management said all passengers on flight SQ 910 were given Christmas presents.

“Singapore Airlines created an extraordinary moment by giving out personalized gifts to passengers arriving on SQ 910,” Singapore Airlines marketing communications & services manager Nenita Dy said.

Country manager Ranjan Jha was among the airline executives who attended the gift-giving activity at the NAIA Terminal 1.

Dy said the airline decided to do something special for passengers, mostly flying in from Europe and the Middle East via Singapore because “we want them to feel Christmas right here, as soon as they arrive in the country. We want them to know that Christmas is more fun in the Philippines,” Dy said.

One of the passengers, German national Iris Greane, said she flew in with her husband to visit friends.

“This is my first time in Manila and we are here for Christmas. We are very excited for the gifts that we found flowing on the conveyor belt.”

John and Maricel Lapuz said they were really amazed when they saw their names in the gift boxes.

“Thank you Singapore Airlines and Merry Christmas,” they said.
