MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration yesterday confirmed that two female BI officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport figured in a verbal tussle that escalated into slapping, pushing and hair pulling on Tuesday, in full view of passengers arriving at the NAIA Terminal 3.
The BI, which ordered both officers to submit a written explanation, said the incident stemmed from a personal and private matter involving the two officers.
Airport insiders said the incident was a case of love triangle, as the two women are reportedly romantically involved with the same man, also an immigration officer.
In a statement, the BI said it expects all personnel to maintain professionalism, proper decorum and discipline at all times, particularly while performing their official duties.
The BI reiterated that it would not tolerate any form of unprofessional conduct, misconduct or behavior unbecoming of a public officer.
It added that appropriate administrative actions would be taken based on the results of the investigation and in accordance with existing rules and regulations.
