MANILA, Philippines — Ten Love Buses will operate in Metro Manila by May after the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) signed a deal with Global Electric Transport (GET) Philippines.

Fare-free electric buses will make a daily average of five to six trips.

Routes will span Robinsons Galleria, Estancia Mall, MMDA, Arcovia, Opus Mall, Arcovia Mall, Eastwood City, C5-Eastwood Footbridge, C5-Green Meadows Footbridge, C5-Green Meadows Gate, Tiendesitas and C5-Julia Vargas.

Depending on passenger demand, the buses will operate from 6 a.m. up to 9 or 10 p.m.

The MMDA plans to expand the operation of Love Buses to other local government units in the capital.

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes and GET Philippines president Sigfrido Tinga signed the agreement yesterday.

Corporate sponsors include Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), Megaworld Corp. and Ortigas Land.

“By linking Robinsons Galleria, Bridgetowne and other business districts along the C5 corridor, we are helping strengthen the connections that already exist within this economic zone,” RLC president Mybelle Aragon-Gobio said.
