No government work on December 29, Jan. 2 – Palace

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has suspended government work on Dec. 29 and Jan. 2, 2026 to give state employees more time to celebrate the holidays.

Agencies performing basic, vital and health services and preparedness and response duties must remain operational, according to memorandum circular 111 signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

Work suspension in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
