MANILA, Philippines —  The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has suspended the number coding scheme and the operation of the Pasig River ferry due to Tropical Storm Nika.

The MMDA on Sunday lifted the expanded unified vehicular volume reduction program in the metropolis.

The suspension did not cover Makati, which has its own number coding rules exemptions.

The MMDA also suspended ferry trips at Pasig River stations yesterday due to bad weather.

The MMDA said the suspension was part of precautionary measures as Metro Manila was placed under Storm Wind Signal No. 1 yesterday.

Classes in Metro Manila were also suspended.
