CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three of four policemen tagged in the kidnapping of two drug suspects in this province have been arrested, according to the National Police Commission.
Napolcom-Calabarzon chief Owen de Luna said the officers were positively identified by the witnesses in a police lineup.
De Luna said the officers were accused of kidnapping Diolito Garay Sr., 60, and Aldy Raquion, 23, in Barangay Parian, Calamba on Jan. 24.
Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, Calabarzon police director, identified the accused as Capt. Joseph Natividad, S/Sgt. France Male and Cpl. Gerald Casanova of the Calamba police intelligence unit.
A fourth accused, Pat. Rudy Burda, has yet to be arrested.
The arrest was ordered after a five-member prosecution panel found sufficient proof against the officers.
Relatives of Garay and Raquion sought the help of the Napolcom for the filing of charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention against the policemen.
