Fire destroys 17 houses in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines —  At least 17 houses were razed in a fire that also left two persons injured in Barangay Pasonanca on Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported yesterday.

Morales said the fire, raised to second alarm, lasted more than an hour and was put out after personnel from nine fire stations responded.

Investigators said the fire started at the house of Benjo Garcia and rapidly spread to adjacent houses. They estimated the damage at P1.2 million.
