UP Diliman student stabbed by robber

MANILA, Philippines — A college student was injured after he was stabbed by one of three robbers at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus in Quezon City on Monday night.

The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was walking along Valenzuela street in Barangay UP Campus when three men approached her at 8:17 p.m., police said.

One of the suspects pointed a knife at her and declared a holdup.

Police said the robber stabbed the victim multiple times when she shouted for help.

The suspects took her bag containing a cell phone, wallet and other personal belongings worth P20,000.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

In a statement, UP Diliman said the Quezon City Police District has taken over the investigation of the case.

The university said its police force would deploy more security personnel in different areas of the campus.
