MANILA, Philippines — A new acting police chief of Pasay has been designated, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).

Col. Samuel Pabonita replaced Col. Mario Mayames Jr., who has been assigned as the chief of the Manila Police District’s Intelligence Division.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Zamora and Pasay Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano led the change of command ceremony at the city hall on Friday.

In her speech, Rubiano expressed confidence that Pabonita would be “of great help in continuing our advocacies, plans and projects, as well as pioneering and reaching new heights for the police force.”

“We are glad to have you with us, and together, let us continue providing our unwavering, honest-to-goodness, faithful and more than adequate service to our constituents,” she added.

Rubiano also thanked Mayames for his contributions in ensuring peace and security in Pasay.
