BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Authorities have expressed alarm over the high number of crime incidents involving minors in the summer capital.
Baguio City Prosecutor Conrado Catral cited records in the last quarter of 2023, which showed 203 of 347 complaints investigated by his office during the period involved minors.
Catral said of the 63 complaints subjected to inquest proceedings, 30 have minors as suspects.
He said 203 cases from complaints logged during the quarter have been filed in different courts.
Among the cases investigated by the City Prosecutor’s Office were violations of the bouncing check law, estafa, violence against women and children, and robbery.
