CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Charges have been filed against a former security guard who was tagged in the killing of his two former colleagues in front of a university in Silang, Cavite last month.
Silang police chief Lt. Col. Louie Gonzaga said Darrel Catindig was charged with murder before the Imus provincial office prosecutor’s office.
Probers said witnesses identified Catindig as the gunman. The shooting was captured by closed-circuit television cameras at the scene.
“We found out that the target of the suspect was security guard number one. Security guard number two was killed as a collateral damage,” Gonzaga said.
Police are eyeing a grudge as the motive for the killing.
Marlon Pilinio and Ron Aldrin Siosa were on duty at the front gate of the Adventist University of the Philippines in Barangay Puting Kahoy when they were shot.
