MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives confiscated 3.2 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P20.53 million in Bacolod City on Tuesday.
Western Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor said the illegal drugs were seized from a suspect identified only as alias Tata in a sting in Barangay Singcang Airport at 3:14 p.m.
The heightened anti-drug campaign was in connection with the celebration of the MassKara Festival.
Police said the suspect was formerly detained at the New Bilibid Prison, also for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act. He was released after the court dismissed the case filed against him.
Meanwhile, shabu worth more than P2 million was seized in stings in Zambales and Angeles City, reports reaching Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. showed.
In Bulacan, shabu worth P172,500 was confiscated from Jeamwiel Garil, Jewarly Gari and Miguel Rosas. The three were arrested in a suspected drug den in Barangay Proper in San Jose del Monte City, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon office. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Ric Sapnu
