MANILA, Philippines — Fifteen persons were injured in an explosion that rocked a restaurant in Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Joel Doria, Mimaropa police director, said four of the victims who are restaurant employees, were taken to various hospitals for treatment.
Doria said initial investigation showed the blast was caused by a gas leak.
Twelve vehicles, including a pickup owned by the Department of Public Works and Highways, and two other commercial establishments were damaged in the explosion.
“Any information related to the incident that may assist the investigation should be promptly reported to the nearest police station or through designated hotlines,” Doria said. – Ed Amoroso
