MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died and two others were injured after they were electrocuted when they accidentally stepped on a live downed power line in Purok 15, Barangay Panacan in Davao City on Friday.
In a statement, the Davao Light and Power Co. (DLPC) said the accident occurred at around 9:15 a.m.
The injured were taken to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for treatment. The two others died at the scene.
“We regret that this incident happened despite proactive measures to ensure safety,” the DLPC said.
The company said it has reached out to the family members of the victims to provide them immediate support.
DLPC said it is working closely with local government authorities to investigate the investigate the accident.
