2 nabbed for P20.4 million shabu in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers confiscated around three kilos of shabu valued at P20.4 million from two suspected drug dealers in Quezon City on Monday night.

Operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) arrested John Lester Manipol, 24, and Jerome Labita, 20, during a sting in Barangay Pasong Tamo at around 12:40 p.m.

DEG director Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo said the suspects were apprehended after they negotiated a deal with a police officer for the drugs in their possession.

Police said the suspects also yielded two cell phones, which they reportedly used during the drug transaction, identification cards and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects’ vehicle, a black Toyota Fortuner, was seized by police.

Manipol and Labita are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
