LAGUNA, Philippines – A former vice mayor of Dolores town in Quezon was shot dead in San Pablo City in Laguna on Friday night.
Police said Danilo Amat, a businessman, was driving his car when he was waylaid along Seven street in Barangay San Francisco. He was declared dead on arrival at the San Pablo City General Hospital.
The victim ran for mayor, but lost to Orlan Calayag in the May 9 elections.
In Kalinga, John Lumpao, a job order employee at the Lubuagan municipal government, was gunned down in Sitio Tiwod, Barangay Antonio Canao on Thursday.
