CEBU CITY, Philippines — The city government of Cebu will implement a stricter COVID vaccination program for young adults and minors including the pediatric group in preparation for the resumption of face-to-face classes.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama yesterday ordered the city health department to intensify the vaccination campaign and ensure that all qualified residents are given booster shots.
The order means opening vaccination sites in select schools and intensifying the house-to-house vaccination program.
“Go double time in vaccinating our students from nursery to elementary, junior and senior high schools and college, and in all private and public schools,” Rama said.
“We need to be very prepared for our children to return to school for face-to-face classes,” he added.
Cebu City’s COVID cases increased in the past week, but it remains under Alert Level 1, data from the Department of Health showed. – /The Freeman
