MANILA, Philippines — Nine persons were arrested for allegedly carrying P920,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate stings in Caloocan and Quezon City on Friday.
Muamar Abeden was caught in Barangay 69, Caloocan with at least 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P680,000, according to the Northern Police District.
Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, Quezon City Police District director, said Randel Allid, 43; Elizar Arojado, 39; Jojit Mesa, 44; Virgo Basco, 35, and Rolando Sioco, 47, were caught with 20 grams of shabu valued at P136,000 in Barangay Holy Spirit.
Around 10 grams of shabu with a street value of P68,000, a cell phone and a coin purse were confiscated from Ronald Gabion, 38; Romulo Cariaso, 53, and Jefferson Angeles, 27, in Barangay San Isidro.
The suspects are being held on charges of drug trafficking. – Emmanuel Tupas
