Isabela flood control project completed

ISABELA, Philippines — The government has completed a P33.97-million flood control project in Benito Soliven town in Isabela.

The project, constructed along the Pinacanauan River, benefitted residents of Barangays Maluno Norte and Maluno Sur, as well as the nearby communities that depend on agriculture.

The Department of Public Works and Highways and the Isabela engineering office completed the project in August.

“We need to have more flood control projects to be able to protect lives and properties within our principal or major river basins as the province has been the center of numerous typhoons in the past,” Editha Babara of the Isabela engineering office said.
